Afternoon at the park
One of my favorite spots to go for a walk in Houston is Menil Park, between the University of St. Thomas and the Menil Collection. The gray paint used for the art museum and surrounding houses is calming and is often cited by interior designers as an inspiration.
You wouldn't even know that the beautiful dove gray shade was a conscious choice. Rumor has it there is no official "Menil Gray" and that the buildings are different but similar shades, adding even more mystery to this legendary color's allure!
The calf hair leopard print on this bag reminds me of the objects inside the surrealist room at the Menil. I like to think it would look at home on the arm of an artist at one of Dominique de Menil's parties. It has just enough room for a small sketch book and some pencils.
