When it snows in Texas
Good evening from snowy Texas! It's been a crazy weather year here, and the whole state has gotten more snow this winter following the wettest hurricane on record last fall.
I'm bundled up in one of my favorite Christmas presents - a red, cream, blue and yellow plaid blanket scarf. These colors remind me so much of the color palettes in 1920s and 1930s children's books. Combined with the cream and light blue knit hat I'm wearing it's almost the Disney Snow White color palette.
The rest of my look is way more tomboyish today because of how much ice is covering the sidewalks! I had to break out my Timberland boots and some cozy wool socks I snagged in the men's section of J. Crew a few years ago.
The red lipstick was also a Christmas gift - M.A.C. Ruby Woo! I can't get enough of how well Ruby Woo photographs. It both absorbs and reflects the light in all of the right ways. It's a very flattering shade and so saturated.
Wearing these boots and trying not to slip on the ice brings back memories of living in Belgium. I wore these boots often on snow days because they're well insulated, water resistant, and have great traction on ice. They're also very comfortable - I could walk around in these all day and barely feel it.
Knit hat from Anthropologie, plaid scarf from Francesca's, sweater from H&M, belt from J.Crew, jeans from Madewell, socks from J. Crew and boots from Timberland Earthkeepers collection.
